Elevated above the cypress-lined shores of legendary Caddo, The Perch @ Jackson Arms Hideout rises on piers nestled deep in the trees. Inside, two bedrooms each with their own bathroom create intimate spaces that wrap around you like an embrace. A bright living room and kitchen that opens to a dining deck, and windows that blur the line between inside and the moss-draped cypress pressing in all around. Kayak, fish, grill, or simply perch yourself and let the woods do what they do best.

Good to know

The Perch @ Jackson Arms Hideout on Caddo You know that feeling when you finally stop? Not slow down. Actually stop. When the noise goes quiet and your shoulders drop two inches without you even trying. You've been chasing that feeling for a while now. Longer than you'd like to admit. It's closer than you think. The second you hit "Reserve" your mind starts doing something it hasn't done in weeks. It starts looking forward. Not to a meeting or a deadline or another obligation with your name on it. To this. To Caddo. To Jackson Arms Hideout. To The Perch. That's already working on you and you haven't even left yet. The drive in is part of it. You'll understand that when you get here. The roads shrink and the trees take over and somewhere along the way the sky disappears behind a canopy of cypress and spanish moss so thick and still it feels like the world is holding its breath. An ancient cross tie bridge over a canal just off the Big Cypress Bayou marks the threshold. Thump. Thump. Thump. You cross it slowly. Not because you have to. Because something in you already knows you're leaving one world and entering another. By the time the bridge is behind you, so is everything else. That's Caddo doing what Caddo does. A few back roads later you arrive at The Perch @ Jackson Arms Hideout. Lifted 15 feet into the trees on piers, it sits closer to the cypress and moss than any cabin on the property. You can feel it the moment you step out of the car. The woods are right there. Present. Still. Like they've been waiting. Inside, a long vaulted run of kitchen and living space opens things up while two private bedrooms each with their own bathroom tuck away on either end, creating a coziness that wraps around you like a long hug from Grandma. A half bath off the laundry room keeps things easy when the cabin is full. The kitchen is small but it opens right into the living room the way a good kitchen should — pulling everyone in, sparking conversation, turning a simple meal into an evening worth remembering. Every inch of The Perch was built intentionally facing the trees and the water, including the porch. Step out there with your morning coffee, challenge someone to a game of darts, or just sit and let the cypress do the talking. When you're ready to head downstairs everything is waiting. Cornhole, a fire pit, a propane grill, a charcoal grill, picnic tables, and kayaks at the water's edge. Gather around the fire on the nights that deserve it. The dock stretches 600 feet out over Caddo with your own private 12x12 space at the end. Sit in it. Fish from it. Watch the golden hour turn the water into something you'll be describing to your grandkids. That's where we leave you. Two bedrooms. Two and a half baths. A porch pointed at one of the prettiest views on the property — though The Refuge and its straight line view of the dock might have something to say about that. And the kind of quiet that doesn't just surround you — it gets inside you. Jackson Arms Hideout does that. It finds the part of you that got buried under everything and gives it room to breathe again. The Perch @ Jackson Arms Hideout is ready. The woods are waiting. Come see what it feels like to stop. Really stop. Breathe in. Breathe out. Aaahhhh. That's it. That's The Perch. *A Few Important Notes* - The Perch is one of five cabins at Jackson Arms Hideout. Traveling with a group? Book multiple.
